The amazing creator of the week is Mimi of Biji Bijoux -- a shop specializing in finished jewelry pieces as well as jewelry making supplies.
Biji Bijoux started January, 2011, "I've been creating jewelry pieces for 4 years. I started out showing my work at local art shows and was so encouraged by the response that I decided to branch out online. I had my own website, but it didn't get too much traffic so I decided to close it. I found out about Etsy from a cashier at a art supply store called JoAnn's, and she encouraged me to visit this site. I opened a shop there, and that’s where I’ve been since."
Mimi's biggest challenge is organization & time, "I have to organize my online work and take care of my family all at the same time."
Her favorite accomplishment is reaching (and passing) a milestone in sales-- the 1,000 mark; also, "getting [her] buyers to come back through good customer service."
Besides your shop what makes you tick? "Cooking and visiting with family."
A tip for other sellers: "Keep trying to do whatever your heart leads you to and never give up."
A great way to promote: "I promote my shop on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Of course, I’m also a member of the Promotional Frenzy Team on Etsy, where the teamies promote each other’s shops. "
Keep an eye out for new necklaces featuring howlite beads.
