Just a Little Personal: Hi everyone! First off, my name is May. I have been opened for business since August 26, 2009, when I first started to list items. I fell in love with fashion when I was 13, looking up trends, runway shows and fashion designers late at night. A year later, my mom signed me up for Saturday classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. I learned basic sewing techniques and gradually moved on to more difficult things, such as making your own patterns, working with a mannequin, etc. I have continued to build upon these skills since then and ended up making my own prom dress. I received many compliments and a few asked me why I wasn’t selling clothes. I thought about the idea and dedicated all of last summer to starting my shop. At first, I intended to just have it be clothes, but my mom found extra beads in her closet and I leaped at the chance to make jewelry as well. I might not have been open for that long, but my shop has already evolved into something more. I have improved my picture taking skills, giving my shop a whole new look it didn’t have before. I am happy to say that I like where I am now, and I hope to continue adding and expanding my shop!
